February/March 2017

FEBRUARY/MARCH 2017

Enclosed you will find your child’s third quarter progress report. The third quarter ends on April 7. Parent-teacher conferences will be scheduled on April 14 to review the report card and discuss plans for the final nine weeks of school.

SMARTER BALANCE OPT-OUT

As required by state law, students are annually assessed to measure progress during graduation standards. Juniors take the Smarter Balanced assessments in English/Language Arts and Mathematics as well as OAKS Science. These tests are the primary method for students to demonstrate the required essential skills for graduation. Testing will begin in late March and be completed in May.

Parents may request that their student not participate in this testing. Information regarding this process is located on the Central Curry School District webpage at www.ccsd.k12.or.us.

PROJECT GRADUATION DINNER

AND AUCTION

Make your plans now to attend this annual fundraising event to promote a safe and sober graduation celebration and scholarship program. The dinner and auction will take place on Saturday, March 11, at 6:00 p.m. at the fairgrounds. Dinner tickets are available from seniors, at the school office or at the door. Thank you in advance to the organizers and the local businesses who have donated auction items to promote this activity.
