JANUARY 2017

Enclosed you will find your son/daughter’s fall semester report card. Credits toward graduation were earned with passing grades. If you have questions about grades, please contact the office to schedule an appointment with the respective teacher(s). Parent contact will be made to schedule appointments for students who have failing grades. We encourage parents to be involved to provide assistance to increase academic achievement and accountability.

        IMPORTANCE OF EXCELLENT SCHOOL

ATTENDANCE

As we begin the new semester, it is timely to remind parents/guardians of the importance to communicate with the school about your student’s attendance. Excellent attendance is the first step towards academic growth and real world preparation. Being on time and bringing required materials to class set students up for a successful day of learning.

Two automated calls (9:30 am and 5:30 pm) inform parents of absences throughout the day. We ask that you call in or send a note to school to excuse the absence within one day of the absence. The definitions of excused absence by state law are included in the school handbook.

Unexcused absences, including those not verified by parent and skipping class, will result in consequences to include detention and/or suspension from school.

With that said, student attendance as a school is at 91% for the fall semester, dramatically up from 68% last year. Please help us continue to the upward trend by

having students attend all class every day and on time.

SECURITY CAMERA

INSTALLATION

We are in the final stages of installing 16 cameras in the halls and

exterior areas to help secure the school

campus. Riley Creek School will be installing a similar system.
