June 2017

Congratulations to the graduating class of 2017! We thank the parents and community for helping us celebrate their accomplishments and wish them well as they move on to life’s next adventures.

Even though the students will be gone over the summer, we will be quite busy on campus with the tsunami retrofit construction and remodeling project as well as planning for the next school year. Due to the construction project, the annual football camp will not occur this year. Summer School will be held at Riley Creek starting June 19. The school office is open from 8:00 – 4:00 (closed for lunch from 12:00 – 1:00) throughout the summer unless posted differently.

Enjoy a wonderful and safe summer.

Final report cards are included with this newsletter for students who owe less than $25.00 in cafeteria, shop and/or athletic fees. If student fees are more than $25.00, please stop by the office this summer to pay fees and receive report cards.

There will be some significant changes to the school calendar in 2017-18. Here are some highlights:

·       First day of fall sports practices – August 14

·       First day of school is August 28

·       Late start days for professional development will change to early dismissals on Thursdays once a month.

·       There will be no school during Thanksgiving week – November 20- 24.

·       Winter break is December 22 – January 7.

·       Spring break is March 26-30.

A reminder to all that the new gym and cafeteria areas will not be accessible for most of the summer. This area will be for authorized personnel only. The weight room will be relocated to a new location during the summer. Students are to contact their coaches for when the weight room will be available and how to enter the building. Stay out of hardhat areas!

All seniors will be receiving information within the next two weeks regarding the senior project requirements and timelines. Seniors will have the option to begin work this summer once approved by Mr. Wilson.
