Tim Wilson is the new principal for the 2016-2017 school year. Roy Durfee, the former principal, will serve as the district's superintendent.
Wilson is in his 36th year of education, working as a music and theatre teacher in Nevada and California for ten years and then a high school guidance counselor for six years. In 1997 he began his administrative career in Roseburg where he worked for 15 years as a middle school and elementary principal. Most recently he was the superintendent/principal in Mitchell, Oregon where he has been for the past four years.
Wilson earned his degrees from San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton (AA), San Francisco State University (BA), University of La Verne (MS) and licensure certificates from California State University Chico and Portland State University.
Father of two daughters in San Francisco and Seattle, Wilson lives in Gold Beach with his wife of thirty years, Julie.
He is looking forward to working with the students, staff and community of Gold Beach High School.
